National Sponsors Help to Make This Year’s Virtual Walk to Cure Arthritis a Big Success
This year, the Arthritis Foundation decided to move our flagship fundraising event, Walk to Cure Arthritis (WTCA), to the online space. The fight for arthritis research and a cure never quits, even when the world seems to be at a standstill. That’s why we were so excited to share this virtual experience with our arthritis family! Over 35,000 people watched the event live on Facebook, helping us raise millions in donations for the fight to cure arthritis.
The Arthritis Foundation is fortunate to have such dedicated partners sponsoring the Walk to Cure Arthritis. They include:
Additional Support Provided by Janssen, A Pharmaceutical Company of Johnson & Johnson and Novartis
Several of our partners shared with us some thoughts about what motivates their commitment to improving patient health and quality of life.
“We applaud the Arthritis Foundation’s efforts to quickly pivot and transition this much-loved event to a virtual platform, allowing people living with arthritis anywhere in the United States AND their family and friends to gather together. Our Amgen team looks forward to joining together safely in person in the future. But until then, we are grateful to the Foundation for the valuable resources they provide to the arthritis community every day.”
—Christos Georghiou, Executive Director, Marketing, Amgen
“Amidst the backdrop of these unprecedented times, we were honored to participate in this year’s first-ever virtual Walk to Cure Arthritis. Thanks to ongoing efforts like these, the Arthritis Foundation is able to provide valuable resources in support of the 54 million Americans who are living with arthritis.”
—Lisa Cruz, Lead, Immunology Advocacy and Professional Relations, Bristol Myers Squibb
“CVS Specialty is proud to support the Arthritis Foundation’s Walk to Cure Arthritis events in support of people with arthritis and their families. Supporting patients and caregivers by helping navigate their healthcare and manage their medications is critical to ensure the best possible health outcomes and makes up the core of what we do. Our programs and resources for patients with rheumatoid arthritis — a major focus of CVS Specialty — align to the Arthritis Foundation’s mission of helping those with arthritis ‘live their best life.’”
—Joel Helle, Vice President of Specialty Sales, CVS Health
It did not go unnoticed by our Warriors in the Walk community that our event sponsors remained by our side during the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic. While the patient remains at the heart of everything we do at the Arthritis Foundation, we recognize the importance of having our sponsors with us every step of the way.
Your participation and fundraising were more important than ever this year as we honored the 54 million Americans living with arthritis. Together, we made an impact by celebrating our Arthritis Warriors, increasing awareness and raising funds to change the course of arthritis.
The pain of arthritis never quits and neither do our warriors, volunteers, staff and champions at the Arthritis Foundation! Arthritis won’t end without the support of our sponsors and the arthritis family. Thank you!
