Biologic drugs are disease-modifying anti-inflammatory drugs that help slow or stop the over-active inflammation that damages joints and organs in autoimmune, inflammatory diseases, like rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis and others. A biosimilars is a type of biologic that is highly similar to and has no meaningful clinical difference from its "reference product," or original biologic.
