Expanding Your Expertise at the Live Yes! Advocacy Leadership Retreat
Big announcement! The Arthritis Foundation is excited to be hosting our top advocacy volunteers from around the country March 9-10, 2020, for the Advocacy Leadership Retreat in Washington, DC.
At the Advocacy Leadership Retreat, participants will gain the tactical skills necessary to mobilize their local communities to break down barriers to care. This 301-style event is designed to provide opportunities for champion-level volunteers to teach and learn from their peers.
Intended for our most advanced advocacy volunteers over 18 years old, including Platinum Ambassadors and advocacy committee members, the Advocacy Leadership Retreat is an event run by volunteers, for volunteers. This special invitation-only gathering will host our top advocacy volunteers from all 50 states to learn, grow and share experiences as an #AdvocateforArthritis.
The Advocacy Leadership Retreat is the perfect opportunity to share successes and learn from others while continuing to move the needle toward access to care for all people with arthritis. The event will feature volunteer-run sessions – including peer-led discussion groups, breakout demonstrations, poster presentations and more! The agenda will even be curated by an elite Platinum Ambassador taskforce of your peers.
Ambassadors will have the special opportunity to submit an application to present a poster or teach a session about one of their top advocacy-related successes. Poster presentations will consist of a range of topics, from creating a state advocacy committee from scratch, to encouraging your member of Congress to attend a local event, to do-it-yourself advocacy campaigns!
Information on event details, registration and applying to present a session or poster will be shared in November. Bookmark our Advocacy Leadership Retreat webpage to stay up to date!
